Job Overview

Our medical malpractice defense firm is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys in managing a high-volume civil litigation caseload from intake through trial. This role works closely with attorneys, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure cases are handled efficiently, deadlines are met, and high-quality work product is delivered.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with day-to-day case management across all phases of litigation
  • Track and manage critical deadlines (pleadings, discovery, depositions, court schedules)
  • Draft and prepare legal documents, including:
    • Discovery requests and responses
    • Medical record summaries
    • Deposition summaries
    • Exhibits and trial materials
  • Organize, review, and analyze medical records in collaboration with nurse consultants
  • Coordinate and schedule depositions, hearings, and expert witness meetings
  • Prepare and maintain case files, pleadings, and document productions
  • Assist in trial preparation, including:
    • Trial notebooks
    • Exhibit organization
    • Witness coordination
  • Communicate with clients, experts, court personnel, and opposing counsel as needed
  • Support attorneys in meeting billable and case management expectations

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years of litigation paralegal experience (civil defense preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, discovery, and court rules
  • Experience handling medical records and document-intensive cases
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management software
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in medical malpractice or healthcare-related litigation
  • Familiarity with expert witness coordination and case preparation
  • Prior experience supporting trial preparation and courtroom proceedings

Compensation & Benefits
