IT Project Manager – Workday Financials (ERP Transformation)

Pay Rate: $58.00/hourly

We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager with Workday Financials expertise to lead and support a large-scale enterprise implementation within the Department of Human Services (DHS).

This role is ideal for a project leader who understands Workday Financials architecture, finance and procurement processes, and ERP transformation environments. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, functional leads, and technical teams to deliver secure, scalable, and compliant solutions.


What You’ll Do

  • Lead and manage Workday Financials and Procurement implementations and enhancements
  • Oversee full project lifecycle across key modules, including:
    • General Ledger
    • Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable
    • Asset Management
    • Procurement (requisitions, POs, supplier management, inventory)
    • Banking & Settlements
    • Financial Reporting
  • Partner with Finance, Accounting, and Procurement leaders to align system design with business processes and compliance requirements
  • Coordinate with Workday functional teams, integration developers (EIB, Studio, Core Connectors), and third-party vendors
  • Track and manage key project components including configuration, data conversion, integrations, security roles, and testing cycles
  • Lead cutover planning, go-live readiness, and post-production stabilization efforts
  • Conduct status meetings, manage scope changes, and provide strategic recommendations to project sponsors
  • Monitor milestones, risks, and dependencies to ensure timely and high-quality delivery

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive cross-functional collaboration across Finance, Procurement, IT, and vendor teams
  • Facilitate business process improvements across:
    • Procure-to-Pay (P2P)
    • Record-to-Report (R2R)
    • Supplier onboarding and management
    • Spend controls and approval workflows
    • Financial reporting optimization
  • Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including leadership, auditors, and PMO teams
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise standards, compliance requirements, and project goals

What We’re Looking For

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • PMP certification (or equivalent)
  • 5+ years leading complex IT projects (within the last 7 years)
  • 3+ years leading server-based application development/enhancement projects
  • Hands-on experience with MS Project, Visio, SharePoint, and Microsoft 365
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Accounting and procurement processes
    • Financial reporting structures
    • ERP systems and integrations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Recent experience leading vendor-managed projects
  • Experience working in state government environments
  • Hands-on familiarity with:
    • Workday Financial Management
    • Workday Procurement Management
  • Experience working in outsourced or multi-vendor environments
  • Strong executive-level communication and stakeholder management skills
