J&R Ross Agency, LLC is seeking a full-time Billing Specialist for our Atlanta, GA client. This position performs billing duties according to established policies and procedures. This position will support a Practice group and several office locations. The ideal candidate must have an overall 5 years law firm experience, with a thorough knowledge of all or most eBilling software systems.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Compiles, manages and executes attorney billing
  • Reviews and edits Pre-bills/Proformas in response to attorney and secretary requests
  • Executes complex bills in a timely manner (i.e, multiple discounts by matter, preparation of electronic invoices LEDES file)
  • Handles a high volume of bills per month
  • Effectively interacts and communicates with attorneys, secretaries and clients
  • Researches and responds to inquiries in a timely manner regarding billing issues and problems as they arise
  • Generates monthly Proformas and maintains a list of Unbilled Proformas for follow up
  • Assists with special projects as needed within the department


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must possess 5 or more years of law firm experience
  • Must possess at least 2-3 years of e-billing experience, with a thorough knowledge of all or most eBilling software systems: Bottomline, Legal Exchange, Tymetrix360, Legal Tracker (formerly known as Serengeti), Passport (formerly known as Datacert), Ariba and Ascent
  • Strong competency with Excel and other Microsoft products
  • Experience with Elite version 3.10 or higher, CMS Aderant or equivalent accounting software is necessary
  • In addition to primary billing responsibilities, the candidate will also be trained to perform other Accounting duties such as assist in Collections and Client intake
