Warehouse Associate – 2nd Shift

Full -Time Warehouse Associate (2nd Shift 3pm – 11pm)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Unloads inbound trucks using material handling equipment
  • Accurately counts cartons/units of received product
  • Sorts, places material on racks, shelves or in bins according to a predetermined sequence
  • Mark products/cartons with identifying information
  • Picks or pulls material or other stock items to fill allocation requests
  • Prepares merchandise for shipment, as required
  • Maintains accurate inventory counts
  • Operates portable, hand-held scanning devices
  • Operates bar code printers
  • Operates computer stations

Follows all safety procedures including:

  • Stack empty pallets
  • Regularly clean, sweep work area, remove trash
  • Perform all tasks to ensure a safe work environment
  • Work as a team member by interacting and communicating with fellow associates

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum three (3) months related experience in a warehouse environment or any equivalent combination of acceptable training, education, and experience
  • Ability to become certified in the operation of warehouse equipment
  • Basic math and computer skills are necessary for the position of materials handlers

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Prior experience operating warehouse equipment, such as forklift, pallet jack and cherry picker helpful, but not required

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the candidate is frequently required to stand/walk; sit; talk/hear, and to distinguish equipment operating sounds; use hands to operate computers and scanners; and reach with hands and arms. The candidate is frequently required to bend, stoop, kneel or squat. The candidate must regularly lift and/or move 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

 

Work Environment

Frequently works around moving equipment and is exposed to normal weather conditions, warm temperatures in the summer and cool temperatures in the winter. The noise level is moderate.
