Job Overview
Our medical malpractice defense firm is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys in managing a high-volume civil litigation caseload from intake through trial. This role works closely with attorneys, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure cases are handled efficiently, deadlines are met, and high-quality work product is delivered.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with day-to-day case management across all phases of litigation
- Track and manage critical deadlines (pleadings, discovery, depositions, court schedules)
- Draft and prepare legal documents, including:
- Discovery requests and responses
- Medical record summaries
- Deposition summaries
- Exhibits and trial materials
- Organize, review, and analyze medical records in collaboration with nurse consultants
- Coordinate and schedule depositions, hearings, and expert witness meetings
- Prepare and maintain case files, pleadings, and document productions
- Assist in trial preparation, including:
- Trial notebooks
- Exhibit organization
- Witness coordination
- Communicate with clients, experts, court personnel, and opposing counsel as needed
- Support attorneys in meeting billable and case management expectations
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of litigation paralegal experience (civil defense preferred)
- Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, discovery, and court rules
- Experience handling medical records and document-intensive cases
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in medical malpractice or healthcare-related litigation
- Familiarity with expert witness coordination and case preparation
- Prior experience supporting trial preparation and courtroom proceedings

Compensation & Benefits
- $70,000 – $85,000
