We are seeking a mid-level tax associate to support sophisticated wealth transfer and estate planning strategies for ultra-high-net-worth individuals and multigenerational families. This role is ideal for an attorney who excels in deep technical execution, structured analysis, and ownership of complex planning matters from design through implementation.

You will play a key role in executing advanced tax strategies within a collaborative team environment. The position emphasizes disciplined execution and precision in implementing sophisticated wealth transfer and estate plans.


Core Responsibilities

Wealth Transfer Planning & Drafting

  • Draft and implement complex trust-based planning structures, including grantor and non-grantor trusts
  • Support gifting programs, estate freeze techniques, and closely held business succession planning
  • Prepare detailed step plans and supporting tax memoranda

Execution & Coordination

  • Translate planning concepts into clear, sequenced implementation steps
  • Coordinate with senior attorneys, clients, and external advisors
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of all documentation

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Strong preference for deep, focused technical work
  • High degree of accuracy, follow-through, and execution discipline
  • Comfortable operating independently within a structured environment

Experience & Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • LL.M. in Taxation strongly preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • 4–8 years of post-JD tax experience with significant drafting responsibility
  • Experience at a Big 4 or accounting firm is welcome if it includes substantive planning and implementation
  • Compliance-only backgrounds are unlikely to be a fit

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $150,000 – $165,000 (depending on experience)
  • Quarterly bonus potential: 3%–16% of total realized revenue, with no billable hour requirements
