We are seeking a mid-level tax associate to support advanced business and transactional tax strategies for entrepreneurs and closely held companies. This role is ideal for an attorney with strong hands-on experience drafting and implementing sophisticated tax planning and transactional structures.
You will play a key role in executing and implementing advanced tax strategies within a collaborative team environment. The position emphasizes disciplined execution, technical precision, and consistency across entity-based and transactional planning.
Core Responsibilities
Advanced Transactional Tax Planning & Drafting
- Implement complex tiered partnership and corporate structures
- Support QSBS planning, reorganizations, and tax-efficient transactions
- Draft and review transactional tax memoranda, step plans, and implementation strategies
Execution & Integration
- Execute planning steps with precision and consistency
- Coordinate internally to support transaction timelines
- Maintain high-quality documentation and continuity across planning processes
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Detail-oriented with a strong preference for structured, technical work
- Demonstrates reliability and strong execution habits
- Comfortable operating within defined workflows and processes
Experience & Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- LL.M. in Taxation strongly preferred (or equivalent experience)
- 4–8 years of post-JD tax experience with significant drafting responsibility
- Experience at a Big 4 or accounting firm is welcome if it includes substantive planning and implementation
- Compliance-only backgrounds are unlikely to be a fit
