GDOT IT Senior Support Specialist 3

Location: Atlanta, GA (Local candidates only; 1 day onsite per week)
Pay Rate: $54.00/hour

Job Summary

Under broad supervision, the GDOT IT Senior Support Specialist 3 provides advanced system and user support for third-party enterprise applications. This role involves troubleshooting complex technical issues, supporting end users, and contributing to system enhancements and deployments. The specialist may also lead initiatives, own assigned tasks, and assist in training staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing user support via phone and on-site assistance
• Troubleshoot and resolve end-user and application issues
• Support deployment, implementation, and modification of third-party applications
• Analyze user needs and design software modifications
• Perform application configuration, scripting, and data analysis
• Write and maintain SQL queries and stored procedures
• Debug application errors and ensure system performance
• Develop and deliver training programs for users
• Serve as a lead or mentor to junior staff when needed

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• AND two (2) years of education or experience in one or more of the following:
  • Information security
  • Privacy
  • System/network administration and support
  • Application development
• Proven ability to independently provide technical support to users

Additional Qualifications (Highly Preferred)

• Minimum 5 years of experience supporting third-party application products
  • Includes deployment, implementation, modification, and debugging
• Experience with Java-based web applications
• Experience supporting Agile Assets / Trimble Asset Management systems (strongly desired)
• Hands-on experience with:
  • Application troubleshooting and configuration
  • Scripting and automation
  • Data analysis

Technical Skills

• Java or other programming languages
• JavaScript
• Groovy scripting
• XML
• SQL / PL-SQL
• Oracle databases
